Marvellous! Indonesia Exports Military Aircraft to Nepal

INDOZONE.ID - PT Dirgantara Indonesia (DI) exported one CN235-220 Military Transport aircraft to Nepal. The aircraft will be used by the Nepalese Army, which is the military army of the Thousand Temples State. Nepalese Army realized CN235-220 orders through a contract numbered MGO / Fixed Wing / 073/74/65, which was signed on June 16, 2017.

The production costs for CN235-220 Military Transport aircraft for the Nepalese Army are borne by the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI), or Indonesia Eximbank using the National Interest Account (NIA) scheme.

The granting of NIA facilities to DI is a realization of the Decree of the Minister of Finance (KMK) Number 512 / KMK.08 / 2018 concerning Amendment to the Decree of the Minister of Finance Number 649 / KMK.08 / 2017 Regarding Special Assignments to the Indonesian Export Financing Institution to Provide Aircraft Export Funding .

"The National Interest Account (NIA) is a mandate given by the Government to LPEI to increase product competitiveness and encourage national strategic industries to export to non-traditional countries," LPEI Corporate Secretary, Emalia Tisnamisastra, said in a statement here on Wednesday. (10/30).

LPEI Executive Director, Sinthya Roesly, considers the performance of national industrial exports very important for increasing the value of the trade balance. Then efforts are needed to increase the value of exports, both from the volume of exports and export destination markets.

"So that the role of the Government through LPEI to provide special funding can stimulate Indonesia's strategic industry to trade (export) to non-traditional countries," said Sinthya.

DI's succeed in fulfilling Nepal's orders could increase other countries' interest in aircraft products made in Indonesia.

The export of aircraft to Nepal has a strategic value for DI because overseas customer satisfaction is one of the main requirements, in the evaluation of international tenders. (SN)
